Transformative Care Through an Integrative Lens

At Perspective Health, we are pioneering a new, transformative model of healthcare. Through our powerful integration of conventional medicine and evidence-based complementary therapies, we transcend a one-size-fits-all approach to provide an individualized treatment plan tailored for your health and wellbeing.
Founded on the driving belief that you deserve to be seen, heard and profoundly understood, our team embraces a holistic, collaborative mindset. We take the time to develop a comprehensive view of your unique circumstances, exploring the physical, mental, emotional and lifestyle factors that shape your vitality.

From this well-rounded perspective, we develop customized treatment plans that blend the most effective conventional and holistic modalities to address the root causes rather than just suppressing symptoms. Our therapeutic solutions synergize to facilitate your body’s innate healing abilities and catalyze lasting transformation.

Empowering you as an engaged partner is paramount. Through education and open communication, we equip you with the awareness and resources to take an active role in reclaiming optimal health and happiness.

Rooted in the highest standards of excellence, integrity and compassion, Perspective Health is raising the bar for patient-centered care. Prepare to experience healthcare from a new perspective.

Functional Medicine vs. Integrative Medicine

“Functional Medicine” is a term often used instead of or interchangeably with “Integrative Medicine”.

Functional Medicine is the practice of finding and addressing the root cause(s) of a patient’s health problem.

Integrative Medicine is the collaborative practice of medicine using a combination of therapies and lifestyle changes to treat and heal the whole person.

Approaching patients in a functional way can change how the body works physiologically, by using tools that are safe/minimum side effects and by focusing on addressing triggers and promoting health rather than treating symptoms alone (often with pharmaceuticals). The main sources of treatment in a “functional medicine” plan typically focus on supplements, nutrition, stress management, self-care, and proper sleep. Integrative medicine includes the functional medicine model and “integrates” it with additional, traditional, and nontraditional, healthcare practices to make each person’s care collaborative and comprehensive.

Audrey Gries, PA-C

Audrey Gries, PA-C, is a well-respected and authentic physician assistant with 15 years of experience caring for patients locally in the primary care setting. After growing up in West Des Moines, she spent time out of state completing her masters of medical science in physician assistant studies from Midwestern University before returning to her Iowa roots to continue practicing medicine.
Known for her devotion to listening to patients, her ability to connect with people, and her commitment to providing thorough, high-quality care, her goal to provide authentic, personalized care has always been paramount. Audrey is driven by a relentless passion for connection, understanding, and the belief that every visit and every patient matters. It was these primary principles that motivated her to create a practice where she could work alongside like-minded team members and consistently care for patients the way she knows they deserve.
Outside of work, Audrey enjoys spending quality time with her two precious young boys (and carting them to ALL the sports activities!). It is through many of her own personal challenges with aging parents, chronic illness, and juggling a full-time career while navigating life as a single mom that she has been given the unique ability to empathize and connect to others in so many ways. She believes that connection to others is critical in our lives; she is eternally grateful for the many relationships she has been fortunate enough to learn and grow from and is excited to continue forming new ones in the future.
